The Oigen metal factory is situated in a region that has been manufacturing Nambu ironware for nine hundred years. The ironware features a popular smooth and impeccable surface thanks to the fine cast of grain sand. Crafted of 75% recycled material, Oigen modern ironware can be used for over 100 years if taken care of properly. The Palma series is a collaboration between a non-profit organization called Japan Creative and Jasper Morrison, who is a highly popular designer who received an invitation to work in the Oigen foundry located in Iwate, a little distance north of the region that was affected by the tsunami in 2011.
