Kalon
The name Kalon is derived from the ancient Greek concept of ‘to kalon.’ To be kalon is more than being beautiful; it is having a beauty that both is and inspires excellence. For the Greeks, this meant a beauty linked with moral worth and usefulness. For us this means making products that aren’t only beautiful in form but beautiful in concept as well.
Kalon Studios believes that true beauty radiates from the whole but has its roots in the details and so from their hardware to our motifs, from our raw materials to their finishes, they laboriously handpick each element so that it too, alone, is kalon.

This eventually led to the creation of his own neckwear collection, digities, in the late 90′s. From this was born the start of the thomaspaul pillow collection, launched in 2001, which was originally conceived of as an idea of utilizing the silk printing mill’s capabilities for home accessories instead of personal accessories. The ultimate goal being to have products covering every aspect of the home, all with thomaspaul patterns gracing them.
